There is only one major release this weekend and that is Snow White and the Huntsman starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth. Opening at 3,772 theaters, it will likely claim the top spot at the box office this weekend. Despite opening only a few months after the similar Mirror Mirror, Snow White and the Huntsman has been advertised as a much darker fantasy. Because of this, it will most likely receive a larger audience. Reviews have been mixed, but the trailers and TV spots have done an excellent job at showcasing the films arresting visual imagery.

Opening in limited release this weekend is Piranha 3DD (Pronounced “Double D”), the sequel to the well-received Piranha 3D from 2010. It is opening at a measly 75 theaters, an indication that it is as bad as the trailers have been making it out to be. Also opening in limited release is the stoner comedy High School starring Adrien Brody, the Austrailian horror film The Loved Ones and the dance film Battlefield America.
